A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, The Food Basket Inc. (TFB) distributes food throughout Hawaii Island;
and
WHEREAS, TFB is a clearinghouse for food that retailers, wholesalers, and farmers
would normally discard and for food donated by the community through food drives and other
philanthropic initiatives; and
WHEREAS, TFB for several months has been distributing over 200 bags of food to over
200 homeless, near homeless, indigent and aging individuals; and
WHEREAS, funding will be used to provide food and supplies to non-profit agencies
and organizations to feed the homeless and hungry individuals and families in Puna; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Office of Housing and Community Development for TFB for the purpose of replenishment of
food stock and the continued distribution of food to needy Puna families; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Housing Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
