RESOLUTION NO. 814 08
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Children's Justice Center of West Hawaii is anon-profit
agency whose mission is to provide assistance to children who have been traumatized by sexual
assault, physical abuse or neglect, or who are witnesses to violent crime, to promote prevention
of child abuse, and to support the Children's Justice Center of West Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Children's Center of West Hawai`i's staff and volunteers
work very closely with Hawaii County government, police, and medical responders in support
of abused children; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Children's Justice Center of West Hawaii has partnered
with Hawaii Leadership Academy since 1999 having provided this leadership opportunity to
over 160 teen youth; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide support to the Friends of the Children's .lustice
Center of West Hawaii to support their program for Winners Camp; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set for the below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance'is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
