Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 133-97 transmitted by
Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro via Communication No- 411 dated July 23, 1997, reports as
follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 133-97 is to name certain roadways within the Sunrise Estates
Subdivision known as Sunrise Estates Unit 1-A at Kukuau lst, South Hilo, Hawaii. This
resolution names the following roadways in Exhibit "A" of this resolution as follows:
Kipuni Street "to gird, wrap around"
Kipuni Place "to gird, wrap around"
Pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code, the Council is
authorized to adopt street names for Hawaii County's unnamed roadways.
The Planning Commission recommended favorable consideration for the naming of these
roadways.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 133=97 and
recommends its adoption.
