Re: Comm. No. 1244/Res. 659-08
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 1244, regarding Resolution 659-08, reports as follows:
Resolution 659-08, transmitted by Council member Bob Jacobson via Communication 1244,
dated May 13, 2008 proposing a Resolution urging the Director of Mass Transit to implement
bus service to and from the Hilo Airport.
There was no testimony from the public on this proposed resolution.
Council member Jacobson stated the public should have available bus transportation to and from
Hilo Airport as offered in other major cities and across the State of Hawaii. He seeks the
support of his colleagues on this proposed resolution. Mr. Jacobson also proposed the following
floor amendments to Resolution 659-08; in the fourth whereas, remove the apostrophe in the
word taxi's, and add commas after the words airport and however; in the sixth whereas, correct;
spelling of the word visitors. These floor amendments were duly seconded and passed.

Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution 659-08, as amended, and recommends its adoption.
