CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA REFERRAL Comm. 1536: A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCI-I AND (Res. 795-08) DEVELOPMENT TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN A CONSUMER EDUCATION WEBSITE DESIGNED TO HELP HAWAII ISLAND RESIDENTS REDUCE THEIR ENERGY USAGE AND COSTS (requests the Department of Research & Development [R&D] to partner with the Kohala Center to create a consumer education website by March 1, 2009 and asks the R&D Director to present an overview of the website to the Council by June 30, 2009) From Council Chair Pete Hoffmann, dated October 21, 2008, transmitting the above resolution. Requests the consumer education website to include the following: 1) energy usage calculations for major types of appliances; 2) links to government sites regarding auto fuel efficiency; 3) energy-saving practices for homeowners, 4) information on solar hot water and electric systems for the home; 5) a linl: to the County's Hele On Bus website; 6) updates on important energy-related leg?slat?on at all levels of government; and 7) other relevant energy-related information or (inla.
