Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 378, reports as follows:
Bill No. 378, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 1507, dated
October 6, 2008, amends Ordinance No. 08-78, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2009.
The amendment is as follows:

The State of Hawaii Department of Health's Maternal & Child Health Branch is providing an additional
funding of $14,900, as part of its Sexual Violence Prevention and Planning Grant to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney. The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is being contracted for services relating to the
planning and development of an initiative for the primary prevention of sexual violence. The funding will be
used to convene a Big Island group of sexual violence prevention stakeholders to provide input to the
statewide Sexual Violence Prevention and Planning committee. This appropriation will bring the total grant
appropriation to $22,900.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County Charter, the
Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Sexual Assault Multi-
Disciplinary Training grant.
