A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL'S SINCERE
GRATITUDE TO COUNCIL MEMBER STACY K. HIGA, FOR HIS YEARS OF
SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, STACY K. HIGA, has represented Council District 4, South Hilo (Keaukaha,
Pana`ewa, Waiakea Houselots, portions of Downtown Hilo, University and portions of Waiakea
Homestead) since December 2004; and
.WHEREAS, during these past four years, Council Member Stacy K. Higa has
participated on all Standing Committees and served as the Chair of the County Council (2005-
2006), Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation (2004-2006) and Vice
Chair of the Committee on Human Services and Economic Development (2004-2006); and
WHEREAS, Council Member Stacy K. Higa has consistently and unwaveringly
demonstrated personal dedication, leadership, integrity, commitment to excellence, and
outstanding public service to his constituents and to the general public throughout the County of
Flawai`i; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Stacy K. Higa will complete his term of office at Noon on
Monday, December 1, 2008, having compiled an exemplary attendance and voting record for all
Council meetings held during his years in office; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
hereby extends its sincere gratitude to Council Member Stacy K. Higa for his years of service,
and offers its best wishes for his continued health, success, and prosperity.
BE IT FINALLY RF,SOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit a true
copy of this resolution to Council Member Stacy K. Higa.
