Yamashiro dated February 19, 1997, reports as follows: The purpose of Communication No. 164 is to recommend the appointment of the following individuals as members of the Kailua Village Design Commission: Ms. Vonnie Lyons, Mr. Lloyd S. Nakano, and Mr. Garrett Webb, are nominated to fill the vacancies created by the expired terms of Ms. Fanny Au Hoy, Mr. Gregory G. Ogin and Mr. J. Curtis Tyler, for terms ending December 31, ] 999. Ms. Lyons, a 43-year resident of Hawaii, was employed by Kamehameha Investment Corporation as the Managing Director of the Keauhou Visitors Association (1975-1994). Mr. Nakano, a 36-year resident of Hawaii, is the General Manager of the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel since 1996. He was employed by the Kona Village Resort (1994-1996) and the Four Seasons Regent Hotels and Resorts (1988-1994). Mr. Webb, a ] 9-year resident of llawaii, is aself-employed landscaper DBA Kalaoa Gardens since 1987. Pursuant to Article 7 ,Chapter 25 of the Hawaii County Code, the mayor shall appoint members to the commission to be confirmed by the Council, as prescribed in Section 25-7-2 of the Hawaii County Code. Mr. Webb was the only appointee present. Your Committee on Planning recommends the approval of the appointment of Ms. Vonnie Lyons, Mr. Lloyd S. Nakano, and Mr. Garrett Webb to the Kailua Village Design Commission.
