Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 243-94 transmitted by
Council Member Jim Rath via Communication No. 1131 dated June 8, 1994, relating to the
establishment of a North Kona Regional Plan, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 243-94 is to initiate acommunity-based North Kona Regional
Plan which will provide for orderly and planned development in North Kona. Upon the adoption
of a North Kona Regional Plan, any zoning of property which is inconsistent with such Plan is
prohibited for a period often years.
Resolution No. 243-94 was discussed and deferred at the Planning Committee's July 5, 1994
meeting.
In view of the lengthy deferral, Your Committee on Planning recommends that Resolution
No. 243-94~be filed.
