RESOLUTION NO. 15 09
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Kurtistown Ohana Fun Day event is scheduled for January 10, 2009,
at the Kurtistown Park; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this event is to create a positive atmosphere, promote
family activities, and to encourage residents to become active participants in the community;
and
WHEREAS, this smoke-, alcohol-, and drug-free event will include informational
booths, entertainment, an exhibition T-Ball game, and free hotdogs and refreshments; and
WHEREAS, organizations involved in the planning include the Department of Parks
and Recreation, Police Department, HIPAL, Queen Lili`uokalani Children's Center, Salvation
Army, Puna Congregational Church, Neighborhood Place of Puna, Holy Rosary Church, and
the Puna Community Action Team; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated
to the Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Community Arts Section to be used
towards the Kurtistown Ohana Fun Day event; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
