In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donations:
Two (2) monetary donations (of $83.71 each), totaling $167.42, to the Department of
Parks & Recreation, to be used for the primate enrichment at the Pana'ewa Rainforest
Zoo & Gardens, by Mr. Jason Takeya, Native FM 95.9, 75-5858 Ali'i Drive.Suite 61 & 62,
Beach Building, Kailua-Kona Hawaii 98740 and by Ms. Elisa Young, Hotdog On A Stick,
111 East Puainako Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
We ask that a letter of appreciation and acknowledgment of their donation be sent to the
donors.
