No. 331-98 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:30 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 331-98, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 331-98, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. <br /> 958.01, dated September 24, 1998, authorizes the County of Hawaii to enter into an agreement with the <br /> United States of America Department of Justice for a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant. <br /> The United States of America through the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has <br /> authorized funding for expenses to provide computers, printers, software and related cabling for a <br /> tracking system for sharing information. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of the <br /> Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken <br /> pursuant to any of the powers l,~ranted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br /> in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Negotiated Agreement for Grant Contract Number <br /> 97LBVX41 16 with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs which will effectuate these <br /> <br /> purposes. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 331-98 and <br /> <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> lci <br /> ny~ ice. .~&e ex <br /> RPCnPMFi~lhr c~~hmittrA <br /> CHUNG --r--- - <br /> LEITHEAQTODD g ~ COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> RAY 7{ n 4 <br /> SANTANGELO <br /> SMITH X AARON S.Y.
