Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 304, reports as follows:
Bill No. 304, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 999, dated
September 17, 1998, amends Ordirtarrce No. 98-44, as amended, the Operating Budget ending June 30,
1999. The amendment is as follows:
From:
3301.90 Federal Grants -Bicycle Education Program Bikeway $49,438
To:
060-321-5321.03-115 Dike Education Program Bikeway $44,483
A grant agreement will be executed between the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation
and the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to fund the Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii
(PATH) Bicycle Education Program for $61,438. As $12,000 was the original amount estimated and
budgeted for FY 1998-99, the above transfer will allow the department to receive the total grant amount.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 304 and recommends it
pass first reading.
