Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 295, reports as follows:
Bill No. 295, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 327-98 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via
Communication No. 985, dated September 8, 1998, amends Ordinance No. 98-49, as amended, the
Operating Budget ending June 30, 1999. The amendment is as follows:

The U.S. Department of Justice is providing funding to conduct a special operation on the Big Island with
particular emphasis in lowering our property crime rate. Further information was not provided as it may
compromise the project.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 295 and recommends it
pass first reading.
