Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 283, reports as follows:
Bill No. 283, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 955,
dated August 19, 1998, amends Ordinance No. 98-50, as amended, the Capital Budget ending
June 30, 1999 as follows:
TO:
South Hilo District $16,779.72
FROM:
Fund Balance -Fuel Tax 94-96 Account [2271.25] Capital Projects Fund $16,779.72
The purpose of this ordinance is to reappropriate the lapsed 1994-96 fuel tax district
appropriations. Because the original amounts were established by formula and to maintain
equity, lapsed district funds would be reappropriated back to the respective districts.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 283 and
recommends it pass first reading.
