Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 820-08, reports as follows:
Resohrtion No. 820-08, transmitted by Director of Finance William Tal<aba, via Communication
No. 175, dated November 6, 2008; authorizes the Director of Finance to negotiate a lease of real
property in I-Iilo, Tax Map Kcy (3) 2-2-020:014 (portion) to the ARC of Hilo.
The County of EIawai`i's Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is designed to be a one-
stop center for Iinding information on services for our seniors and disabled communitti~. 1'he
ADRC, located at 1055 Kino`ole Street in Hilo, brings together several County and private
programs serving seniors and individuals with disabilities.
The County of Hawaii wishes to lease approximately 80 square feet of office space within the
ADRC, idcntiPied as being a portion of "fax Map Key: (3) 2-2-020:014, to the ARC of Hilo, a ,
nonprofit organization, who will be providing support to the Office of Aging regarding inquiries
for those with disabilities.
Pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-120 (a)(2) and (b) of the Hawaii County Code, the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to negotiate a lease with a nonprofit organization
without notice or appraisal.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 820-08,
and recommends its adoption.
