Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 281-98, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 281-98, transmitted by Police Chief Wayne Carvalho, via Communication
No. 872, dated May 18, 1998, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Rotary Club of
Kona.
The Rotary Club of Kona has graciously donated an automobile bicycle rack which will be used
by the West Hawaii Community Policing Program. The approximate value of the automobile
bicycle rack is one hundred fifty six dollars and twenty-four cents (S 156.24).
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Couneii, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts of donations of personal property.
Upon adoption of the resolution, Chairman Chung stated that he would send a thank you letter to
Ms. Tina Clothier, President, Kona rotary club at P.O. 3583, Kailua ,Kona 96745.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 281=98
and recommends its adoption.
