A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APP120PRIATION OU"1' AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME "I'O A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island is facing a shortfall of $334,300 for
Fiscal Year 2008-2009 due to a reduction in funding Irom governmental grants and private sources;
and
WHEREAS, specifically; the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island's unit in Pahoa has a
shortfall of'$27,000; and
WHERF,AS, the Pahoa unit is located at the Pahoa l-ligh and Intermediate School and has 136
registered members; and
WHF,REAS, the Pahoa unit is very active in providing youth development and prevention
programs; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used for operational expenses f`or the Boys and Girls Club of
the Big Island's Pahoa unit; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`1 that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
