RESOLUTION NO. 39 09
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUNll ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME '1'O A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Western Community Policing Institute (WCPI) was established in 1996
as one of the national network of Regional Community Policing Institutes (RCPT) funded by the
United States Department of Justice Off ce of Community Oriented Policing (COPS); and
WHEREAS, WCPI provides training and technical assistance on community policing
issues vital to community safety to six-state region: Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, Ncw Mcaico,
Oregon, Utah, and Indian Country; and
WHEREAS, WCPI is a valued resource and partner, by providing high quality
innovative training, research, technical assistance and support which improves the overall safety,
security, and quality of life for our nation's communities; and
WHEREAS, WCPI training courses help provide law enforcement, local government
and community members an opportunity to work together on impacting their community, using
the community policing process; and
WHEREAS, supporting our community to take positive action to help their group
achieve their goals to build a better, safer community; and
WHEREAS, contingency relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to support co-sponsorship of the recently held hvo-day class
"Creating Community -Police Problem Solving Teams" under WCPI Community Police
Training; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF'I'HE COUN'T'Y OF FIAWAI`1 that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director oP Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
Resolution.
