Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 220, reports as follows:
Bill No. 220, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 797,
dated Apri17, 1998, amends Ordinance No. 97-83, the Operating Budget, as amended, ending
June 30, 1998, as follows:

The Department of Human Services, Office of Youth Services, is providing funds to further the
education of DARE officers. These courses will allow the officers to discuss and update the
curriculum and teaching methods presently taught in the schools. It will also help with solving
problems officers have encountered while conducting the training curriculum.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 220 and
recommends it pass first reading.
