Your Committee on Finance, to which .vas referred Bill No. 7, reports as follows:
Bill No. 7, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 33, dated
December 2, 2008, amends Ordinance No. 08-79, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, 2009,
by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Bridge Repairs-Islandwide $2,500,000
(110.399.5399.53)
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund - $2,500,000
Fund Balance and/or Other Sources
Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget for that
year with atwo-thirds vote.
Councilmember Hoffmann requested a breakdown of what bridges are going to be repaired and how
much money was going to be allocated to each project. Finance Director Nancy Crawford stated that there
were no projects ready to go out to bid but would provide a breakdown to the Council prior to the next
meeting.
Councilmember Ford stated her agreement with Mr. Hoffmanr.'s request and also asked that a list of the
types of repairs be provided and questioned if any FEMA money could be involved. Director Crawford'
stated that she did not believe any FEMA money was involved but would confirm the information prior to
the next meeting.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 7, and recommends it
pass first reading.
