No. 253 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:45 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 253, reports as follows, <br /> Resolution No. 253, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication <br /> No. 783, dated Mazch 31, 1998, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Hawaii Recreation <br /> and Park Association. <br /> Hawaii Recreation and Park Association has graciously donated $2,000 to the Department of <br /> Pazks and Recreation to provide a Summer Fun Scholazship Program for needy and <br /> disadvantaged children in the Hamakua and Ka'u Districts. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the <br /> county, may accept gifts of donations of personal property. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 253 and <br /> recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be sent <br /> <br /> to Sam Lankford, Ph.D., President, Hawaii Recreation and Park Association, at P.O.
