Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 734, reports as follows:
Communication No. 734, transmitted by Al Smith, Secretary-Treasurer for the Hawaii State
Association of Counties (HSAC), dated February 23, 1998, submits the proposed HSAC Annual
Budget for fiscal year 1998-99.
Pursuant to the By Laws of the Hawaii State Association of Counties, Section 17, Budget, the
executive committee shall prepare and submit to each Council an operating budget. The budget
shall present a complete financial plan for the current operations of the corporation in the
ensuing fiscal year which will be shared commonly and equally by all Councils.
The HSAC proposed budget for fiscal yeaz 1998-99 is $46,074. The following aze assumptions
and changes:
1. Interest Income projection same as last FY.
2. Dues will remain the same.
3. Fund Balance is estimated at $10,774.
4. Auditing/Accounting will be increased by 5% to $4,750.
5. Stationery will be budgeted for $1,000.
6. NACo Dues to increase by 2.8%.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 734
and recommends its approval.
