RESOLUTION NO. 2 2 97
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF THE FOREIGN TRADE
ZONE BUILDING TO STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM.
WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-111, of the Hawaii County Code
provides that the County Council may by resolution approved by a majority of its
members, dispose of real property; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii Department of Research and Development is
responsible for the Foreign Trade Zone Warehouse Building; and
WHEREAS, the Building is situated on State of Hawaii land identifed as TMK:
2-1-12:009 (Por.), Lot 19B; and
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii granted the County Department of Research and
Development $790,200.00 to construct the Hilo Foreign-Trade Zone Warehouse in
1996; and
WHEREAS, the County Department of Research and Development wishes to
transfer ownership of the Hilo Foreign-Trade Zone Warehouse Building to the State of
Hawaii Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism; and
WHEREAS, the Foreign Trade Zone 9 of the State of Hawaii Department of
Business Economic Development and Tourism will manage, operate and maintain the
Foreign Trade Zone building; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of Hawaii
that:
1. In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-111 of the
Hawaii County Code, the Director of Finance be authorized to transfer the Hilo Foreign
Trade Zone Warehouse Building situated on TMK: 3rd. Division 2-1-12:009 (Por.), Lot
19B located at por. General Lyman Field, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii.

2. The Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit a copy of this resolution to
Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism, Foreign Trade Zone 9,
Department of Research and Development and the Director of Finance.
