Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 221, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 221, transmitted by Executive on Aging William Takaba, via Communication
No. 686, dated January 22, 1998, authorizes the County of Hawaii to enter into supplemental
agreements for HA-98/99-2-A, HA-IIIA-98-3-N, ADM-4-97-8, and HA-98-1-N, with the
Executive Office on Aging, Office of the Governor, State of Hawaii, to maintain programs
relevant to the needs of the elderly.
Resolution No. 126-97, previously adopted by the County Council, authorized and designated
the Council Chair to sign Contracts HA-98/99-2-A and HA-98-1-N in the name of the Council
of the County of Hawaii. However; the County of Hawaii Office of Aging has since been
informed that the funding level of the Contract No. HA-98-1-N has been increased from
$701,761 to $725,812, thus, requiring the execution of this supplemental agreement.
The Council Chair is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the name of the Council of the
County of Hawaii supplemental agreements to Contracts HA-98/99-2-A, HA-IIIA-98-3-N,
ADM-4-97-8, and HA-98-1-N.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 221 and
recommends its adoption.
