We know this project is the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) ND (Neighborhood Design) registered project on the island of Mawaii. The developers have committed to sustainable and green building through: • reduced overall water consumption by approximately 30°k per unit • all homes will have solar hot water heaters • infrastructure built into each house for additional solar components like photo voltaic panels for air-conditioning • xeriscape and native landscaping The developers have taken great strides to work within cultural protocols through the cultural advisory committee and listening to local citizen input. The only concern we have is that any new development requires more use of community resources; such as schools, police, water and roads. We would like tv be certain that the overall infrastructure needs of the community are met. Thank you for the opportunity to provide testimony and I encourage the Planning Commission to vote in favor of this project. Si rely aka Kreusling Michelle Danihel-Kreusling Comm.
