Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 681, reports as follows:
Communication No. 681, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated Januazy 20, 1998,
nominates Janice K. Nakamura of Honokaa to the Hawaii County Liquor Control Adjudication
Board.
A 30-yeaz resident of Hawaii, Mrs. Nakamura will replace Yolanda Kahawaii whose term
expired on December 31, 1997. Mrs. Nakamura has been a Special Education teacher at
Honokaa Elementary since 1968. She is a board member of the North Hawaii Federal Credit
Union, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Of no political affiliation, Mrs. Nakamura
will serve a term to end December 31, 2002.
Pursuant to Article VII, Chapter 3, Section 7-3.3, Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a liquor
control adjudication board consisting of five members who shall be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the council in the manner prescribed in Section 13-4, Hawaii County Charter.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the approval of the appointment of Janice K.
Nakamura to the Hawaii County Liquor Control Adjudication Board.
