RESOLUTION AMENDING SALARY ORDINANCE 96-64, BY PROVIDING FOR
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FOR EMPLOYEES COMPENSATED BY THE EXECUTIVE
PAY PLAN.
WHEREAS, Article III, Section 3-13, Hawaii County Charter, provides for
interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance be made by resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that Section 3 of Ordinance No. 96-64 is hereby amended to provide
that employees compensated by the executive pay plan may receive
additional compensation.
SECTION 3. Rate of Compensation. (A) There shall be an executive pay
plan covering appointive executive/administrative positions. Employees
occupying positions covered by this executive pay plan shall be paid at rates of
compensation set forth in the following schedule at the pay grade fixed and
established by section 8 of this ordinance or any amendatory resolution:

executive cay clan may be paid additional comcensation for work cerformed
over 40 hours per week at a rate not to exceed one and one-half hours for each
hour of work cerformed over 40 hours.
1.&.21 The mayor may cay cash awards to recoanize emcloyees
compensated by the executive pay clan who throuah cersonal efforts
contributed to the efficiency. economy, or other improvement of Qovernment
ocerations or who cerform scecial services in the cubHc interest in connection
with or related to their official emcloyment.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the Departments of Civil Service and Finance.
