<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />..~--' <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO.~ <br /> <br />HOUSING PRESERVATION GRANT PROGRAM TO PROVIDE LO\oJ OR ZERO <br />I~~EREST LOANS OR GRANTS TO QUALIFIED FAMILIES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural <br /> <br />Development (RD) , has advised the County of Hawai'i that the RD <br />has announced on January 7, 1997, that $80,000.00 is available <br /> <br />for the 1997 Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) program for the <br /> <br />State of Hawai'i; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the primary objective of the HPG program is to <br /> <br />provide low or zero interest loans or grants to low income <br /> <br />families for basic renovations and repairs to their homes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 2-73, Hawai'i County Code, requires that <br /> <br />all instruments and documents relating to the housing programs of <br /> <br />the Hawai'i County Housing Agency be signed by the Mayor as <br />authorized by the Charter and the Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is required by the RD that the County of Hawai'i <br /> <br />submit a preapplication with certifications and other <br /> <br />documentation assuring conformance to related rules, regulations <br /> <br />and laws of the HPG program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is further required by the RD that, if the <br /> <br />preapplication is approved, the County of Hawai'i must submit an <br /> <br />application to obligate funds. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> <br />OF HAWAI'I, that the Mayor of the County of Hawai'i or, in his <br /> <br />absence, the Acting Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and <br /> <br />submit the 1997 HPG preapplication and, if approved, all other <br />
