COUNTY OF HAWAUSTATE OF HAWAII
RESOLU:FION
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE PAHALA
COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF ELECTRICAL MATERIAL TO BE USED IN THE
COMPLETION OF THE PAHALA COMMUNITY CENTER EXTENSION.
WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department extended the Pahala Community Center in May 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department has exhausted all available funds for this project and is now unable
to purchase the electrical material needed to illuminate this area; and
WHEREAS, the Pahala Community Association is eager to complete this project and has donated Six Hundred
Dollars ($600.00) to the County of Hawaii to cover the cost of purchasing this electrical material; and
WHEREAS, the value of this donation is Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00); and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts of donations of money.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance
with Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks and Recreation is
authorized to accept the donation of Six Hundred Dollars from the Pahala Community Association for the purchase of
electrical material.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is directed to transmit copies of this resolution
to George Yoshida, Director of the Parks & Recreation and Robert Makuakane, President of the Pahala Community
Association at P.O. Box 661, Pahala, Hawaii 96777.
