RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF ASSORTED
WEIGHTLIFTING PLATES FROM HOPE CHAPEL OF KAILUA-KONA.
WHEREAS, the Hope Chapel of Kailua-Kona, whose Chaplain is
Sonny Shimaoka, has donated eighteen assorted weightlifting
plates (fourteen 45-lb, four 25-lb and ten 10-lb weights) to the
Hawaii Police Department; and .
WHEREAS, the retail value of the donated plates is eight
hundred thirty dollars and no cents ($830.00); and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County
Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may
accept gifts or donations of personal property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section
13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Hawaii Police
Department is authorized to accept the donation of eighteen
assorted weightlifting plates (fourteen 45-lb, four 25-lb and
ten 10-lb weights) from the Hope Chapel of Kailua-Kona.
