RESOLUTION NO. 73 97
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF $1,500 FROM CHEVRON U.S.A.,
INC., FOR-THE TRAINING OF HAWAII COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL
TO FIGHT PETROLEUM FIRES.
WHEREAS, Chevron U. S. A., Inc., has donated $1,500 to help
defray expenses incurred in sending five (5) Hawaii County Fire
Department personnel to Oahu to attend the Hawaii Petroleum Fire
Protection Course; and
WHEREAS, the training the Fire Department personnel receive at
this course will enable them to respond effectively to petroleum
fires; and
WHEREAS, such training will improve the fire fighting
capability of the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, section 13-121 of the Hawaii County
Charter, provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may
accept gifts or donations of money;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the
Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii accepts the donation of
$1,500 from Chevron U.S.A., Inc., for the training of Hawaii County
Fire Department personnel to fight petroleum fires.
