RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM CLERK-COUNCIL SERVICES TO THE
CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY TO FUND DISASTER LEADERSIDP AND OUTREACH TRAINING
WHEREAS, the American Red Cross- West Hawaii Organization has requested funding to provide Hawaii
County with a Disaster Leadership and Outreach Training Program; and
WHEREAS, this program would train 300-400 people to provide 24-hour emergency response to individuals,
groups, or whole communities, who are victims of natural or man-made disasters; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in Clerk-Council SVC OCE Miscellaneous Contract Services account
to cover the cost of the disaster training; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Civil Defense is in favor of providing the instrumentality to disburse funding
to the American Red Cross-West Hawaii Organization prior to the end of fiscal year 96-97; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA WAil that the
amount of $15,000 be and is hereby transferred/appropriated from the Clerk-Council SVC OCE Miscellaneous
Contract Services Account No. 010-101-5101.02-115 and credited to the Civil Defense AGC OCE Miscellaneous
Contract Services Account No. 010-241-5241.02-115.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is hereby directed and instructed to forward a
copy of this resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance be and is hereby authorized to make
the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
