RESOLtITION
NAMING A STREET IN THE COUNTY OF HA WAIl, STATE OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii is authorized to adopt street names for
unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22,
Hawaii County Code; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii approved and adopted Committee on
Public Works Report No. 100 on June 20, 1990, which recommended the acceptance of the
roadways in the Omao Street Subdivision, Punahoa 1 st, South Hilo, and
WHEREAS, one of the roadways is an eastern extension ofUluwai Street, and
Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 2nd day of
June

WHEREAS, this extension of Uluwai Street has been from time to time referred to as
"East Uluwai Street" and
WHEREAS, the duplicate names referring to this street has caused confusion to
emergency and delivery vehicles providing service to residents on this street;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii,
renames the extension of "Uluwai Street" to "East Uluwai Street" in accordance with the attached
map identified as Exhibit A.
