RESOLUTION INCREASING TIME ELEMENT AND REALLOCATION OF FACILITY
MAINTENANCE & SERVICE WORKER I 1/2T TO BUILDING MAINTENANCE REPAIRER
FOR HOOLULU PARK COMPLEX.
WHEREAS, the Parks Maintenance Division assists in repairs,
plumbing and electrical work to the deteriorating Hoolulu Park
Complex; and
WHEREAS, the dependency on other divisions or agencies to assist
in correcting facility breakdowns or deficiencies have hindered
services to facility users; and
WHEREAS, for better service with fewer breakdowns to eliminate
long periods of facility closure during emergencies or to eliminate
the need to wait for services from another division, a repairer can
provide immediate repairs to the facilities; and
WHEREAS, by reallocating Position No. 2850, Facility Maintenance
& Service Worker I 1/2T, BC-03, to Building Maintenance Repairer,
BC-09, and increasing the time element from half-time to fulltime,
an enhanced preventive maintenance program can be instituted to
eliminate breakdowns and the closure of facilities to a minimum; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the regular salaries and
wages account of the Department of Parks & Recreation, Hoolulu Park
Complex Division.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that Position No. 2850, Facility Maintenance & Service Worker
I 1/2T, BC-03, be changed to Building Maintenance Repairer, BC-09.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available in
010-511-5511.01-011, Parks & Recreation, Hoolulu Park Complex's
Regular Salaries and Wages account.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks & Recreation, Finance and
Civil Service.
