RESOLUTION CREATING A PARK CARETAKER I 2/5T FOR THE PUNA DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, an additional three (3) acres have been added at
Shipman for a soccer field; three (3) acres at the new Aquatic
Center; and another two (2) acres at Hawaiian Beaches; and
WHEREAS, maintenance at the Cooper Center has been also been
added to the responsibilities of the current park caretakers in the
Puna District; and
WHEREAS, these additional duties have prompted the department to
switch one park caretaker who worked on the weekends to forty (40)
hours during the week; and
WHEREAS, a weekend employee is needed to handle the cleanup of
all of the parks because of heavy usage; and
WHEREAS, by creating one (1) Park Caretaker I 2/5T, BC-02
position for the Puna District, maintenance on weekends and holidays
can be provided; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Department of Parks &
Recreation, Parks Maintenance's Regular Salaries and Wages account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that one (1) Park Caretaker I 2/5T, BC-02, be created.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT funds are available in the Regular
Salaries and Wages account of the Department of Parks & Recreation,
Parks Maintenance.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks & Recreation, Finance and
Civil Service.
