RESOLUTION NO. 92 92-
RESOLUTION CREATING WATER SAFETY OFFICER POSITIONS FOR HONOLII AND
AHALANUI BEACH PARKS.
WHEREAS, Honolii Beach Park has the potential for multiple
rescues on a regular basis; and
WHEREAS, due to the difficulty in responding to the beach area,
double coverage is essential for providing emergency care and in
enforcement duties; and
WHEREAS, due to the geographical isolation and potentially long
response time of emergency back-up support of Ahalanui Park, double
coverage becomes essential in providing effective emergency care and
in the enforcement of rules and regulations; and
WHEREAS, by creating one (1) Water Safety Officer II 3/10T,
SR-17 position for Honolii Beach Park, and one (1) Water Safety
Officer II 2/5T, SR-17 position for Ahalanui Beach Park, seven (7)
day coverage, eight (8) hour shifts can be provided; and
WHEREAS, these positions can also provide lunch relief as well
as additional coverage during the peak use hours between noon and
4 : 00 P. M.; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Department of Parks &
Recreation, Aquatics Division.' s Regular. Salaries and Wages account.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that Water Safety Officer II 3/10T, SR-17, and Water Safety
Officer II 2/5T, SR-17, be created.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT funds are available in the
Department of Parks & Recreation, Aquatics Division's Regular
Salaries and Wages account.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks & Recreation, Finance and
Civil Service.
