93 97
RESOLUTION CREATING A POWER MOWER OPERATOR POSITION FOR THE KONA
DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation, Parks Maintenance
Division, has over 120 workers maintaining daily island-wide
operations of 130 parks and facilities; and
WHEREAS, because of the expansion of an additional 13+ acres of
ballfield at the Kona Gym, the workload to upkeep ballfields has
increased greatly; and
WHEREAS, the additional acreage at the Kona Gym is a highly
visible and well-used area, necessitating maintenance of acceptable
standards on a long-term basis; and
WHEREAS, a Power Mower Operator, Be-03 position, would assist in
maintaining facilities to an acceptable standard in the entire North
and South Kona Districts, which includes eight (8) parks; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds within the Department of
Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division, to cover the cost
of the additional position.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that one (1) Power Mower Operator, BC-3, position be created
in the Parks & Recreation, ,Parks Maintenance Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available within the
Department of Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
Civil Service.
