Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of a 5 foot hand painted fiberglass Honu
artwork to the Department of Parks and Recreation. This donation, with an estimated
total value of $3,000, is being donated by Newton and Roberta-Chu, 478 Kupuni Street,
Hilo, Hawaii 96720. The artwork will be on display at the Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo &
Gardens.

A. REQUEST:
To accept and acknowledge the donation of a 5' hand painted fiberglass Honu for display at Pana'ewa
Rainforest Zoo & Gardens, from Newton and Roberta Chu and valued at $3,000.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Honu was one of the entries in the "It's A Honu World" exhibit and was painted by former Zoo Manager
Richard Mortemore. Newton and Roberta Chu, 478 Kupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, is donating the
artwork which will remain on display at Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens. We request that this donation
be accepted and acknowledged.
