The grant's goal is to improve the department's ability to respond to violent sex crimes, physical abuse and crimes of violence against women. This supplemental funding will be used to compensate the SAFE nurses who are on standby status and waiting to conduct an examination on victims of sexual assault, at any time of the day or week. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into the SAFE Standby Pay Grant account. Temporary: ^, Duration:- Part-time: ^, Timc Element Explain: Additional Comments about Grant: B-52 Grunt Swmm~ry form Number 2 S U P P L E M E N T A L A G R E E M E N T - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - THIS AGREEMENT, effective as of the by and between the DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, STATE OF HAWAII, hereinafter referred to as "Agency," and Hawaii Police Department, hereinafter called "Grantee"; WITNESSETH THAT: WHEREAS, by Contract Number .O5-WF-12, dated September 1, 2007, and any amendments thereto hereinafter referred to as the "Primary Agreement", Grantee agreed to provide efficient and effective forensic examinations in Hawaii County through the provision of standby pay; and WHEREAS, Agency's initial funding for the program totaled twenty-three thousand, four hundred eighty-four and 00/100 dollars ($23,484.00) in federal monies; and WHEREAS, by Supplemental Agreement Number 1, dated August 19, 2008, the maximum compensation of the Primary agreement was increased to twenty-nine thousand, four hundred eighty-four and 00/100 dollars ($29,484.00) and Grantee's matching funds to nine thousand, eight hundred twenty-eight and 00/100 dollars ($9,828.00); and Whereas, Agency now has available additional federal monies in the amount of eleven thousand, one hundred thirty-six and 00/100 dollars ($11,136.00); and WHEREAS, Grantee has submitted to Agency a revised program budget; and WHEREAS, Section L of the Primary Agreement provides that the Agreement may be modified; and WHEREAS, Agency- and Grantee mutually desire to modify, alter, and change the Primary Agreement in accordance with said section; NOW, THEREFORE, Agency and Grantee mutually agree as follows: 1. Part I. Title Page and Part III. Budget Detail and Explanation of Exhibit "A" of the Primary Agreement are Revised 6/08 hereby modified as set forth in the revised Parts I and III, attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and incorporated herein by reference. 2. Grantee's maximum compensation under Section G of the Primary Agreement shall be increased .from twenty-nine thousand, four hundred eighty-four and 00/100 dollars ($29,484.00) to forty thousand, six hundred twenty and 00/100 dollars ($40,620.00), and Section G of the Primary Agreement shall be amended accordingly. 3. Grantee's matching funds under Section C of the Primary Agreement shall be increased from nine thousand eight hundred twenty-eight and 00/100 dollars ($9,828.00) to thirteen thousand, five hundred forty and 00/100 dollars ($13,540.00), and Section C of the Primary Agreement shall be amended accordingly. 4. Except as aforesaid, all terms and conditions of the Primary Agreement shall remain unchanged and unaffected by Revised 6/08 this Supplemental Agreement Number 2.
