Section 15-3 of the Hawaii County Charter (2000) requires the empanelling of a Charter
Commission for the purpose of studying and reviewing the Charter and making recommended
changes. I hereby submit for Council confirmation the following individuals as nominees to the
2009 Charter Commission:
1. Daphne Honma (Hamakua)
2. Joseph Kealoha (Kohala)
3. Seth Murashige (Hilo)
4. Edmund Haitsuka (Kona)
5. Todd Shumway (Hilo)
6. Scott Unger (Kona)
7. Casey Jarman (Kau)
8. Susie Osborne (Puna)
9. David Fuentes (Kohala
Application forms for each of the above nominees will be submitted to the Council under
separate and confidential cover.
