Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 199, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 199, transmitted by Finance Director Hazry Takahashi, via Communication No.
607, dated November 19, 1997, increases the time element of a van driver for the Retired Senior
Volunteer Program (RSVP) one-half time to full-time.
As the Retired Senior Volunteer Program continues to provide a variety of opportunities for
retired persons, an increase in the demand for transportation is justifiable. By increasing the
time element of the Van Driver position to full-time, the position would be better able to carry
out the commitments of the RSVP program.
There are sufficient funds in the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities
Division, Regular Salazies and Wages Account to cover the cost of the additional time element.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 199 and
recommends its adoption.
