Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 28-09, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 28-09, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 60,
dated December 19, 2008, authorizes the Director of Finance to negotiate a lease of real property in I-Iilo,
Tax Map Key (3)2-2-020:014 (Portion), to the Center of Independent Living
The County of Hawai`i's Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is designed to be a one-stop center
for f nding information on services for our seniors and disabled community. The ADRC, located at 1055
Kino`ole Street in Hilo, brings together several County and private programs serving seniors and individuals
with disabilities.
The County of Hawaii wishes to lease approximately 608.5 square feet of office space within the ADRC,
identified as being a portion of Tax Map Key: (3)2-2-020:014, to the Center for Independent Living, a
nonprofit organization. The Center for Independent Living will be providing support to the Office of
Aging regarding inquiries for those with disabilities.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 28-09, and
recommends its adoption.
