No. 189 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:50 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 189, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 189, transmitted by Council Vice-Chair Al Smith, via Communication No. 589, <br /> dated November 17, 1997, accepts a donation from Puna Geothermal Venture. <br /> <br /> Puna Geothermal Venture has graciously donated thirty-two Royal Palms to the County of <br /> <br /> Hawaii, Department of Pazks and Recreation for the Hawaiian Beaches Park. The donated <br /> palms are valued at $3,200. <br /> <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of <br /> <br /> the county, may accept gifts of donations or personal property. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 189 was amended by deleting the condition to use the Royal Palms at the <br /> <br /> Hawaiian Beaches Pazk. Instead, the resolution would allow for the Royal Palms to be planted <br /> at any Puna area park. <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 189, as <br /> amended to Draft 2, and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a <br /> letter of appreciation be sent to Bazry Mizuno, Financial Manager, Puna Geothermal Venture at <br /> <br /> P.O.
