COUNTY OF HAWA,'I,:"STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION
NAMING A STREET IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii is authorized to adopt street names for
unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22,
Hawaii County Code; and
WHEREAS, on August 14, 1995, the Planning Director approved the W. H. Shipman
Mutual Self-Help Subdivision (SUB 6620) at Keaau, Puna, Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the roadways in this approved Subdivision are being dedicated to the
County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Haa Family and the Kaiewe Family, both kamaaina's, have long been
associated with W. H. Shipman; and
WHEREAS, the Haa Family and the Kaiewe Family have consented to naming these
roadways in their honor;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii,
names "Haa Street," "Haa Place," and "Kaiewe Place" in accordance with the attached map
identified as Exhibit A.
