RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR UTILITY LINE
EASEMENT AT KAIWILAHILAHI, DISTRICT OF NORTH HILO, ISLAND, COUNTY
AND STATE OF HAWAII, TAX MAP KEY NO. (3)3-5-03:049, TO HAWAII ELECTRIC
LIGHT COMPANY, INC. AND GTE HAWAIIAN TELEPHONE COMPANY,
INCORPORATED. /
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is the owner of that certain parcel located at
Kaiwilahilahi, District of North Hilo, Island, County and State of Hawaii, specifically identified
as Tax Map Key No. (3)3-5-03:049, being more particularly delineated on Exhibit "A" (map),
said exhibit prepared by Hawaii Electric Light Company, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, HAWAII ELECTRIC LIGHT COMPANY, INC. and GTE HAWAIIAN
TELEPHONE COMPANY need the grant of easement to construct, reconstruct, repair, maintain
and operate pole and wire lines and/or underground lines and to use such appliances and
equipment as may be necessary for the transmission and distribution of electricity for light and
power and/or communications and control circuits, within the County's property; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-111 of the Hawaii County Code requires that the Council, by
resolution, authorize the Grant of Easement from the County of Hawaii, subject, however, to
reversion to the County of Hawaii upon termination or abandonment of the easement for the
specific purposes for which it was granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, in accordance with Section 2-111 of the Hawaii County Code, that the County of
Hawaii authorizes a grant of easement for the construction, reconstruction, repair, maintenance

and operation of pole and wire lines and/or underground lines and to use such appliances and
equipment as may be necessary for the transmission and distribution of electricity for light and
power and/or communications and control circuits, to Hawaii Electric Light Company, Inc. and
GTE Hawaiian Telephone Company Incorporated, as delineated on the map submitted by Hawaii
Electric Light Company, Inc. attached hereto, over Tax Map Key No. (3)3-5-03:049, until
termination or abandonment of that specific purpose, to Hawaii Electric Light Company, Inc. and
GTE Hawaiian Telephone Company Incorporated, its successors and assigns.
