Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 581, reports as follows:
Communication No. 581, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated November 12, 1997,
nominates Gazy K. Yoshimura, of Hilo, to the Hawaii County Fire Board of Appeals.
A 48-year resident of Hawaii, Mr. Yoshimura will replace Hajime Uyeki of Hilo whose term will
expire on December 31, 1997 Mr. Yoshimura is retired from the Hawaii County Fire Department,
and since 1977 has been part-owner of HITCO Moving and Storage Company. Mr. Yoshimura is
active with the Piihonua Community Association. Of no political affiliation, he will serve a term to
end December 31, 2002.
Your Committee on Finance recommends confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Gary K.
Yoshimura to the Hawaii County Fire Board of Appeals.
