Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 164, reports as follows:
Bill No. 164, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 571,
dated November 4, 1997, amends Ordinance 97-83, the Operating Budget, as amended, ending
June 30, 1998.
The amendment is as follows:

3302.12 Federal Grants -COPS Ahead Program General $675,000
TO
010-201-5219.53-115 COPS Ahead Program General $675,000
The Department of Justice has approved the additional award of $675,000 under the COPS
Universal Hiring Supplement Program. A resolution creating an additional nine (9) Police
Officer II positions for this program will be forthcoming.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 164 and
recommends it pass first reading.
