RESOLUTION CHANGING CLERK-TYPIST FROM TEMPORARY
TO PERMANENT
WHEREAS, Resolution 322-91 created Position No. 3648, Clerk-
Typist Temporary in the Department of Research and Development
due to special projects; and
WHEREAS, this position provides clerical support to the Film
Promotion Program funded by the State, including maintaining files,
inventory of materials, etc.; and
WHEREAS, with the volumes of contracts and changes to the
procurement law, including Konno decision, the workload of the
existing clerical staff and program specialists has been overwhelming;
and
WHEREAS, this position has been funded every year since its
creation; and
WHEREAS, with the diverse programs of the department, the
clerical support is essential to facilitate major projects; and
WHEREAS, the productivity of the department would increase
since the retraining of new personnel would be eliminated if this
position is changed from a temporary to a permanent one; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Regular Salaries and Wages
Account of the Department of Research and Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that Position No. 3648, Clerk-Typist Temporary,
SR-08, be changed to [full time] permanent.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available in the
Regular Salaries & Wages Account of the Department of Research and
Development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Research and Development, Finance
and Civil Service.
