Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 161, reports as follows:
Bill No. 161, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 177 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi,
via Communication No. 555, dated October 20, 1997, amends Ordinance 97-83, as amended, the
operating budget ending June 30, 1998.
The amendment is as follows:

3302.23 Federal Grant -Public Housing Drug Elim General $70,900
TO:
010-201-5219.61-115 Public Housing Drug Elimination Program General $70,900
Bill No. 161 appropriates funding to the Hawaii County Police Department from the US
Department of Housing and Urban Development, through the Department of Human Services.
The Hawaii Housing Authority is providing funds to eliminate drugs at the Lanakila Housing.
Jointly, Resolution No. 177 authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement with the Department
of Human Services for this program.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 161 and
recommends it pass first reading.
